happiness
I hope you all had a nice weekend. We had such a lovely time with Aaron’s parents and their puppy this weekend. As promised, there was lots of good food. We ventured out almost every meal to places like Alchemy, Frankies 457 and Beast. Luckily, there was quite a bit of walking to help work off some of the food we ate. I’ll be posting about Frankies later in the week, but I have to give a little update on Alchemy.
Last time I wrote about it, I was a little disappointed with my meal, but this time my meal was absolutely fantastic. I was intrigued by the nightly special, Seared South African Sea Bass with Mashed Potatoes and Kale. I’m not usually a big fish person, but something about it sounded right. Oh man… it came out all golden and crispy on a nice pile of mashed potatoes. The first bite was heavenly with very little taste of fish, but all goodness. You could probably guess that I’ve never had kale before, but I tried it and really liked it. It was definitely an excellent meal that’s worth the visit to Alchemy. I just wanted to give a little redemption to a place that deserves it.
Along with all the dinners out, I did make a few things at home. Like toast. Just kidding, I made a little more than that. Aaron’s mom and I made a trip to the greenmarket and we picked up a chicken and some potatoes to make a roast. I think I inspired myself a little bit after my last post. It felt good to make a nice family dinner at our humble abode. Good times.
