Just when you thought I couldn't possibly use rosemary and honey one more time, I'm back with a finger-licking snack. Yup, I did it, I poured honey butter with a little rosemary over my popcorn and it's basically awesome, albeit a little messy.
All it takes is equal parts honey and butter and some fresh rosemary. Pour the honey butter over your popcorn, I prefer the stove top method, stir it up and sprinkle some chopped rosemary over it and stir a bit more. Now, take a kernel and savor the sweet, slightly herbal flavor and get your napkins ready.
honey rosemary popcorn
makes big bowl, approximately 4 cups
popcorn*:
1/4 cup popcorn
1 T. oil
honey butter goodness:
2 Tablespoons honey
2 Tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon rosemary, finely chopped
1
Make popcorn on stove top by heating the oil in the pan with 3 kernels. Once the kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn and put a lid on it. Shake the pan a little to make sure the kernel get coated with oil and let cook until they're all popped, about 4 minutes.
2
When popcorn is ready, pour into bowl, being careful to keep any unpopped kernels out of the bowl.
3
Melt butter and honey together and pour over popcorn. Use a big spoon to incorporate the butter into all the popcorn.
4
Add the chopped rosemary and give it one more stir.
5
Get some napkins and eat up!
*You can, of course, use whatever kind of popcorn you prefer.

Looks wonderful! I usually make caramel popcorn to with go gifts, and this could be a great compliment to the sweet corn.

Mm, popcorn. I just had some tonight, but next time it may be like this — there’s rosemary in the garden.
Hey, here’s a way to microwave that same 1/4 cup popcorn:
Dump 1/4 cup popcorn kernels in a brown paper lunchbag. Fold over tightly several times. It won’t stay tight, but that’s fine. Put it in the microwave and nuke, listening to the popping like you do with pre-packaged microwave popcorn. I go 2:30 but I have an older microwave, so newer ones will be quicker.
No need for a pan or oil, and the paper bag can be reused if the kernels don’t poke a hole in it while popping with excitement.
