Look at that! My tomato plants have turned into beasts and my little pepper plants are finally plumping up. I've gotten over my anger of buying the pots and dragging the dirt up my stairs and have now moved on the delight each time I look out our window and see my lush landscape. Oh, and check out the cute little blossoms popping up on my tomato plants:
Awww. They just make me happy.
Just to keep up on the tradition of asking you questions, do you think I can still put one of those cone things on my tomatoes even though they're pretty big? I bought some special stakes to hold them up but the almost immediately shot past them by about 6 inches.

Are you talking about the metal wires? I just put those too and they don’t seem to hurt. They make the plant more sturdy when you tie the branches to the metal.

Aw, they’re making me happy too. Thanks for sharing the little guys.

I love apartment gardens! They make the space so lush and bright. Your plants here look like they’re going to serve you well over the coming months, good job!

Ahh, you’re so lucky, and they’re looking good. Down in my neck of the woods, it’s been so hot and dry, my little garden is basically frozen in time. About 30 straight days now w/ no rain and temps over 95. I can water it to keep it alive, but every baby veggie just stopped where it was about a month ago. Frustrating, but at least it looks good! Maybe it’ll come back around soon…either that or I need to move!

I think you could, so long as you’re careful! I put mine on just last week.
Eric, if you’d like some rain, it’d be nice if we could share–I’d love some sun and warmth on a regular basis. We’ve had a lot of rain!

Newp. Looks too late. The metal cones suck anyway — I’ve had tomatoes BREAK them, and tomatoes knock them over while they sprawl through the holes and get huge. Basically the tomatoes end up “wearing” the cones.
Could you put them out by the balcony railing? That would give them some support. Though then they’d probably grow through it and you’d have tomatoes hanging way out in space.
Oof, sorry to be so negative!
