It is hotter than hot here in New York and to be honest, I just want to sit in front of an air conditioner with one of these. Lemonade is the quintessential summer beverage, so why not jazz it up with a little mint and some booze? It’s cool, refreshing and hits the spot on a hot summer day.
I’ve got a busy weekend ahead of including visiting the unfancy food show and hanging out with lady friends. Good times! I hope you have an awesome weekend! Cheers!
grown up lemonade
makes 1 cocktail
1 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/2 oz agave syrup
2 oz vodka
5-6 fresh mint leaves

Place all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker along with 2 cubes of ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.

Pour into a glass, garnish with a lemon slice and enjoy!














sour cherry coffee cake
I’ve been waiting a whole year to make this recipe for. Last year I saw it on Lottie and Doof and immediately wanted to make it. But alas, I was too slow and sour cherries had already made their brief appearance at the market and unfortunately there would be no encores. Hence, the year-long wait.
There’s such anticipation at this time of year, and unlike in early spring when I eagerly await the appearance of one lone colored fruit or vegetable, now I go and see all sorts of new, vibrant and colorful fruits or vegetables. I wasn’t going to let those sour cherries get away this year, so I snapped up two baskets of them, ready to whip up a coffee cake even if it meant turning on the oven in 80° weather.
