honey + sesame seed coated brussel sprouts

I’m still on a brussel sprouts kick. Last week I had them four times! I think that may have doubled my lifetime intake! I had some honey and sesame seed crusted brussel sprouts at a local restaurant and it kind of blew my mind. They were so awesome, I knew I had to try to recreate them at home. After a few tries, I figured it out and it’s spectacular.

A step beyond simply coating them in olive oil and salt, these barely take more effort. Simply combine equal portions honey and olive oil and coat the sprouts. Sprinkle a little salt over top and pop them in the oven for about 20 minutes.

The sweetness from the honey and the texture of the sesame seeds is like a little piece of heaven. I found myself trying not to fight over the last morsel, they were that good.

These look delicious! However I must ask.. these are only baked for about 1/2 the time of your other recipe. Any reason?

It’s that time of year again, isn’t it? Wahoo! Lucky us. I really, really love brussels sprouts…I tend to slice them uber-thin and do them simply with olive oil, lemon, and garlic. These look tempting though–may have to mix it up.

    marie,
these don’t cook as long because you don’t want the honey to burn plus they don’t need to get as crispy. mmm, they’re so tasty! enjoy!
