happy hour: herby lemon

I have to admit something. Whenever I go to the grocery store these days looking for inspiration I immediately go for the blood oranges. Dang them for being so pretty and delicious! But with a quick look around, I soon found myself standing in front of a basket full of meyer lemons. You know, the sweet step-sister to the regular lemons. It’s time they get their chance in the spotlight. I created this lovely little cocktail that balances the slightly sweet and tangy flavor of meyer lemons with a splash of rosemary.

Cheers! To a long weekend! I hope you have an excellent one!

Ahh love love the cocktails with rosemary syrup. It’s also great with Champagne. Just make sure to get the rosemary springs out of there! http://thetastysidetolife.blogspot.com/2011/02/champagne-tasting-trip-chateau-viewing.html

Meyer lemons are a recent favorite of mine too- and this cocktail looks just perfect. I had a thyme-lemonade vodka drink during Restaurant Week NYC that looks similar- and tasted amazing! Love citrus- and a little booze on the side doesn’t hurt either :)
